CLEARFIELD- A Howard man charged with aggravated assault for stabbing a man in the head outside a bar, pleaded guilty to lesser charges in Clearfield County Court.
Ryan James Lingenfelter, 22, of196 Gravel Point Rd., Howard and an inmate of the Clearfield County Jail, pleaded guilty to two counts of simple assault and disorderly conduct.
He was sentenced by Judge Paul E. Cherry to 60 days to one year in jail and two years consecutive probation. He was fined $650 plus costs.
Lingenfelter was ordered to complete anger management counseling and to have no contact with the victims. He is neither permitted to consume alcohol nor to enter an establishment that serves alcohol.
The charges stem from an incident at a bar in Hawk Run on May 12. According to the affidavit of probable cause, at 12:25 a.m. police were called to Sutton’s Bar inMorrisTownshipto investigate a stabbing.
Sometime after midnight, the defendant who was at a nearby residence said he was going to the bar to hurt someone. He then walked to the bar, entered and pointed at patrons before leaving. The victim walked outside and asked Lingenfelter if there was a problem. Lingenfelter then stabbed the victim three times on top of his head. As another victim attempted to take the knife from Lingenfelter, she received an abrasion to her hand.
The first victim was transported toClearfieldHospital, where he received staples in his head. The second victim declined medical treatment.
