WARSAW TOWNSHIP – Alcohol is believed to be a factor in a single-vehicle accident that occurred today in the 9000 block of state Route 28 in Warsaw Township, the DuBois-based state police reported.
Benjamin A. Ross, 28, of Reynoldsville lost control of his vehicle while traveling at a high rate of speed. His vehicle subsequently struck a parked car before striking a set of guiderails.
At that point, his vehicle was propelled into a grassy area along the roadway and overturned several times. Ross exited the vehicle and fled on foot. He was located in a nearby wooded area.
Ross allegedly exhibited signs of being under the influence of alcohol. He was transported via ambulance to the Brookville Hospital for treatment.
The Ross vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene.
Charge of DUI and multiple traffic violations will be filed through the district court.
