Ruth P. Brown, 82, of Philipsburg died Sunday, Aug. 5 at the Clearfield Hospital. Born March 7, 1930 in Irvington, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Earl M. and Paulyne (Bowser) Perks.
Mrs. Brown was a 1948 graduate of the Philipsburg High School. She retired from the Philipsburg State General Hospital, where she worked in the medical records department.
She was a member of the First Church of Christ, Philipsburg. She enjoyed knitting.
She was married to Donald M. Brown, who survives at home, June 15, 1991 at the First Church of Christ, Philipsburg. She’s survived by one son and daughter, Alan L. Barnett and his wife, Eva of Philipsburg and Kim A. Barnett of Manassas, VA.
Also surviving are eight step-children and two brothers, Earl L. Perks and his wife, Beverly of Rochester, NY and Ronald M. Perks and his wife, Cathy of Hemet, CA; two grandchildren, Jessica D. Yoder and Christopher Barnett, both of Osceola Mills, many step grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a step-son, Don Brown and a great-granddaughter, Carina A. Barnett.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, 228 N. Centre St., Philipsburg, with the Rev. William R. Fowler officiating.
Burial will follow at the Philipsburg Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. to the hour of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
