Carol Arlene Schreffler, 74, of Brisbin died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.
Born May 15, 1938 in Brisbin, she was the daughter of Arthur John and Mary Lee (Bloom) Bell. She was a member of the Houtzdale American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Madera Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary.
On March 31, 1958, she married Bond Schreffler, who survives in Brisbin.
She’s survived by a son, Bond Leo Schreffler and his wife, Troyce of Tulsa, OK; a daughter, Jolene Faye Schreffler of Brisbin; three grandchildren, Kenneth Shawn Black and his wife, Ana, Troyce Amanda Smith and her husband, James and Cassandra Amber Aldhizer; and three great-grandchildren, Kenneth Michael Black, Anabella Rayme Smith and Victoria Skyler Smith.
Also surviving are brothers and sisters, Eliza Teater of Missouri, Mildred Daud and her husband, Harold of Bellefonte, Edgar Bell and his wife, Violet of Grassflat, Percy Bell and his wife, Peggy of Niagara Falls, Mary Berger and her husband, Dan of Minnesota and Reynold Bell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Etna Faye Bell; and two brothers, Paul Oren Bell and Arthur John Bell Jr.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home Inc., Houtzdale, with the Rev. Donald Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brisbin.
Visitation will be held from2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
