DuBois City Hears Reading of Speed Limit Ordinance

DUBOIS – DuBois City Council heard the first reading of an ordinance that will drop the speed limit of a road from 25 miles per hour to 15 miles per hour within the city limits at Monday night’s meeting.

The road, which would be effected, is Hospital Avenue.  Most council members voted to affirm the reading. Council member Randy Schmidt voted against the reading. Council member Edward Walsh was absent from the meeting.

The council must hear a second reading of the ordinance and present it for final approval.

Jeff Baronick presented a video that showed highlights of DuBois Community Days. Baronick thanked the city, local businesses and DuBois citizens for the success of Community Days.

After Baronick left the meeting, City Manager John “Herm” Suplizio stressed the hard work Baronick himself does for Community Days and that he was already working on next year’s events.
