Minor Injuries Reported following Two-vehicle Accident in Jay Township

JAY TOWNSHIP – Minor injuries were reported following a two-vehicle accident at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday on the Bennetts Valley Highway in Jay Township, the Ridgway-based state police reported.

Ricky L. Kuder Jr., 32, of Forkston Township was traveling northbound in the right-hand lane. Judy A. Dubler, 59, of St. Marys was traveling in the left-hand lane and passing the Kuder vehicle.

The Kuder vehicle was attempting to pull off on the western berm and failed to observe the Dubler vehicle alongside his vehicle. The Kuder vehicle’s driver’s side front quarter panel and tire struck the passenger’s side front quarter panel of the Dubler vehicle.

Then, the Dubler vehicle was pushed across the southbound lane and into the guiderail on the western side of the roadway. It came to a rest opposite of Russell Hideaway Road, facing northwest. The Kuder vehicle came to a rest in the left-hand, northbound lane of the Bennetts Valley Highway at its intersection with Russell Hideaway Road.

Kuder wasn’t injured in the accident; his passenger, a 4-year-old boy, sustained minor injuries. Dubler also sustained minor injuries. All occupants were using the proper safety restraints at the time of the accident.

State police were assisted at the scene by the Jay Township Volunteer Fire Department and Bennetts Valley and St. Marys ambulance.

Kuder was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic through the district court.
