“Meet the Candidates” Event Set for Aug. 6

DUBOIS – The DuBois City Democratic Committee will host a “Meet the Candidates” event at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6 at the America Legion Post, 315 Liberty Blvd.

The event will present the public with an opportunity to meet and hear from Democrats who are running for various state and national offices in the fall general election.  Confirmed speakers include, Eugene DePasqaule, candidate for Auditor General and Charles Dumas, candidate for the 5th Congressional District.

In addition, there will be representatives for Mark McCracken, candidate for 74th House District and for President Barack Obama’s campaign. McCracken had previously scheduled to attend the meeting of the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania on the day of the event.

Clearfield County Democratic Chair, Rodger Baumgardner will be in attendance. He will have voter registration materials available.

“The DuBois City Democratic Committee believes it is important for the public to have an opportunity to meet candidates and to judge who will best represent them in office,” said Grace Bergin, an event organizer.

“There are too many people who vote based on negative campaign ads or rumors rather than getting the facts about the candidate.”

She said additional candidates will be announced as they confirm their schedules.

Light refreshments will be available. The event is free to the public.
