Martin C. Johnson, 74 of Christ The King Manor in DuBois, PA, passed away July 15, 2012 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, PA.
He was born on July 4, 1938 in Clearfield.
Mr. Johnson had been a truck driver for most of his life. Most recently,he had been employed as a truck driver for ATF Trucking Company of Baltimore, MD.
He was Protestant by faith.
Mr. Johnson had served in the United States Marines.
He is survived by three children: John Johnson and his wife Jennifer of New Bern, NC, Laurie Ricketts and her husband James of Charlestown, West Virginia and Lynnette Berry and her husband David of Curwensville, PA; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a daughter in-law, Kathy Johnson of Curwensville, PA; three brothers and a sister: Barry Johnson of Clearfield, PA, Richard Straw of Eugene, Oregon, and Mike Straw of Curwensville, PA, and Marlene (Straw) Steinman of Akron, OH. Also surviving is his fiancée, Lois Perry of DuBois, PA.
Mr. Johnson is preceded in death by his parents, James and Sara Straw; his wife, Margaret “Peggy” (Tibbens) Simmons; and a son, James Johnson.
A memorial service will be held on July 20 at 7:00 p.m. at Christ The King Chapel in DuBois, PA with Rev. John Bauer officiating.
Friends will be received in the chapel from 6:00 p.m. until the hour of services.
