John Richard Fullington Jr., 59, of Clearfield died Friday, July 13, 2012 at the Clearfield Hospital.
Mr. Fullington was born Jan. 8, 1953, the son of J. Richard “Dick” Fullington Sr. and Mildred “Tillie” (Fink) Fullington.
He was a 1971 graduate of the Clearfield Area High School, where he was a four-year letterman in track and basketball. He also participated in chorus. In 1975, he graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a degree in accounting.
Mr. Fullington worked at the family businesses of Fullington Auto Bus Company and Fullington G.M.C. Sales Inc. He was the owner and operator of the Arrowhead Restaurant of Clearfield. He also held a black belt in karate and was an instructor and competitor.
He was a member of the West Side United Methodist Church of Clearfield and also a member of the Clearfield Area School District Board of Directors from 1991 to 1995.
He is survived by two daughters, Heidi M. Burke and her husband, Mark of Plymouth, MA and Tenley L. Warhurst and her husband, Gene of Fairhope, AL; three grandchildren, Liam, Lily and Finn Burke, all of Plymouth, MA; a brother, Michael L. Fullington and his wife, Lory of State College; two nephews, Michael J. and Matthew A. Fullington; a niece, Cassandra L. Fullington and his former wife, Loretta P. Fullington of Clearfield.
Mr. Fullington was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Aerial Lynn Weisman.
Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. Wednesday at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc., of Clearfield, with Pastor Paul Bowers officiating. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
