Fugitive of the Week: Mark Evans Jr.

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of July 9, 2012.

Shaw identified the Fugitive as Mark Evans, Jr., age 25, of Woodland.

Shaw stated that Evans is wanted for failure to appear at plea and sentencing court on May 15, 2012.

On June 16, 2011,  Chief Timothy O’Leary of the Decatur Township Police Department, filed a criminal complaint charging Evans with receiving stolen property, M1.

An affidavit of probable cause filed by O’Leary states that in June 2011, the Decatur Township police began an investigation into the theft of machinery parts from several coal sites in Decatur Township.  Upon investigation it was found that Evans and another individual had possession of the stolen items and had turned them in as scrap metal in exchange for U.S. currency. The stolen items were valued at approximately $1,200.00.

A preliminary hearing was held on June 29, 2011, at which time all charges were held to court. On May 15, 2012, Evans failed to appear for plea and sentencing court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Hair:                Brown
