Month-Long Detour Coming for Repair Work on Morris Township Bridge

CLEARFIELD – Work to repair a bridge on state Route 2035 (Hardscrabble Road) in Clearfield County will get underway July 10 and a detour will be in place. The bridge spans a tributary of Moshannon Creek between the villages of Munson and Winburne.

Making repairs to the bridge will extend its useful life for years to come and provide a smoother, safer ride for area drivers. The bridge was built in 1936. It is 19 feet long and carries an average of more than 850 vehicles per day.

In order to perform the repairs, the bridge will be closed and a detour will be in place. The detour will make use of SR 2032 (Old Turnpike Road), SR 53, and SR 1009 (Pardee Road).

PennDOT Clearfield County Maintenance will perform this work, which is expected to last through Aug. 7, depending on weather. Work includes removal and replacement of the current deck, joint repair, placement of a new concrete rails, paving, and guiderail updates.

Drivers are reminded to follow official detour signs, obey posted speed limits and always buckle up.
