Lamar Man in Custody for Outstanding Warrants, Possible Drug Possession

HALFMOON TOWNSHIP – A Lamar man is in custody following a one-vehicle car accident on state Route 550, south of Marengo Road.

The state police in Philipsburg responded to the accident on Saturday evening. Once driver and passenger information was obtained, it was determined the driver, James I. Lansberry of Lamar, was found to have multiple outstanding warrants.

When he was taken into custody, police discovered he had numerous empty “glassine” baggies with suspected heroine residue in them; a baggie containing bath salts, numerous syringes and a metal spoon with residue on it.

Police said the Lansberry requested to be taken to Mt. Nittany Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries he received in the crash. After being medically cleared, he was placed in Centre County Jail on the outstanding warrants. He also faces charges of DUI, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and numerous traffic citations.
