Corbett Signs Six Senate Bills

HARRISBURG – Gov. Tom Corbett has signed into law the following bills:

Senate Bill 388 (P.N. 1388) – This bill amends sections 2 and 3 of the act of May 1, 1933 (P.L. 216, No. 76), known as “The Dental Law,” with changes pertaining to professional liability insurance carriage by licensed dentists.

Senate Bill 1049 (P.N. 1717) – This bill amends sections 2710, 2717 and 2907 of Title 30, 30 Pa. C.S., to provide the Fish and Boat Commission with the authority to undertake special license and permit options.

Senate Bill 1067 (P.N. 2127) – This bill amends section 102 of Title 75, 75 Pa.C.S. (Vehicles), to expand the definition of “emergency vehicle.”

Senate Bill 1351 (P.N. 2140) – This bill amends sections 502, 503 and 507 of the act of June 29, 1953 (P.L. 304, No. 66), known as the “Vital Statistics Law of 1953,” to allow certified registered nurse practitioners acting within the scope of their practice to file the medical certification for a death or fetal death registration.

Senate Bill 1406 (P.N. 1934) – This bill amends section 6503 of Title 24, 24 Pa. C.S. (Education), to allow a private, nonprofit college or university to offer an additional degree, major or program without the approval of the PA Department of Education (PDE), under certain specific conditions.

Senate Bill 1433 (P.N. 2257) – This bill creates the Homeowner Assistance Settlement Act and establishes allocations to be made under the Homeowners Assistance Settlement Agreement.
