Vivian L. “Betty” (Bricker) Bungo, 91, of Smithmill went to be with the Lord on Saturday surrounded by her loving family.
Born July 7, 1920 in Glasgow, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Flora (Kuhn) Bricker. She was a 1938 graduate of Reade Township High School and was a parishioner of St. Vladimir’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, Smithmill.
On May 3, 1941 in Hagerstown, MD, she married Peter Bungo, who preceded her in death Aug. 21, 1990. She was a homemaker and enjoyed bingo, crocheting, traveling and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived two sons and two daughters, Eugene D. Bungo and his wife, Sandra of Smithmill; Larry Bungo and his wife, Virginia of Lyndhurst, OH; Vivian Corl and her husband, Donald of Altoona; and Dana Whitcomb and her husband, Jon of Key West, FL.
She was a loving grandmother to seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. She is also survived by a sister, Ruth Williams and her husband, Bill of Ramey and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by five brothers, Robert, Ivan, Paul, Harold and Perry and four sisters, Marguerite Garman, Mary Spinner, Helen Evans and Edythe B. Garman.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 a.m. – 9:15 a.m. Thursday at the Kruise Funeral Homes Inc., Ramey
Parastas will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home by Fr. Paul Bigelow. Divine Liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Vladimir’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Smithmill, with Fr. Paul Bigelow officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery in Ramey.
