Philipsburg Man Arrested for Suspected DUI, Outstanding Warrant

BOGGS TOWNSHIP – A Philipsburg man was taken into custody following a suspected DUI crash along state Route 153.

According to the state police in Clearfield, 20-year-old Curtis M. Cooley was traveling south on SR 153 when he reportedly swerved to avoid a deer on the roadway. He left the road and struck an embankment.

Troopers noted as they spoke with him, they determined he was under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI. Troopers also learned he had an outstanding arrest warrant out of Centre County. Cooley was then placed in Clearfield County Jail.

Pending the results of blood test, Cooley faces charges of DUI, underage drinking and related charges.
