Treasure Lake, which is located in Sandy Township, is a gated community spanning more than 8,000 acres.
Amber Rieg, marketing director at Treasure Lake said that it is time for some changes.
“It’s very important for both the community and our residents to secure what we have invested in,” said Rieg.
On Monday night, the security team held a presentation called “Securing our Treasure,” Rieg, one of the key leaders in the group, said that heightening security is imperative. According to data presented at the meeting, there were 158 incidents in Treausre Lake in April. Twenty-two citations were also written. The statistics for May were even higher: management reported 232 incidents during May.
A few months ago, there were reports of shots being fired inside of Treasure Lake. Rieg said it is difficult to determine why there is an increase in incidents.
“It’s such a big area, you really cannot say why it is — with all of the guests coming in, especially with the jobs that are building in this area,” said Rieg.
The “Securing our Treasure” presentation provided insight on adding more security. Leaders are hoping more cameras will be added. They have also suggested adding additional lighting and security personnel being trained on using weapons.
