CLEARFIELD – Students enrolled in the truck driver training program at Clearfield County Career & Technology Center will benefit from the donation of a new commercial truck that was donated by a local business.
The school accepted delivery of a 1992 International Concrete Mixer from E.M. Brown Inc. of Clearfield on Wednesday. The Class B truck will be utilized by students enrolled in the truck driver training program.
“The generous donation of this truck to our program will allow us to continue to provide excellent training for individuals seeking a commercial driver license,” said assistant director William Weaver. “Truck driving jobs are a high priority occupation, and this new truck added to our fleet of training vehicles will allow us to continue to provide the best training for this type of career choice.
“We are grateful for the partnership that we have with E.M. Brown,” Weaver added.
The program currently offers Class A and Class B commercial driver training, with an available focus on the gas and oil industry for students seeking employment in that area.
“We have successfully assisted many of our students in obtaining family-sustaining wage driving careers in both the over-the-road trucking industry and the gas and oil drilling industry,” said Julie Benamati, admissions recruiter. “The donation of a truck such as this one from E.M. Brown assists us in our ability to provide quality training while at the same time, keep our costs down to make training as affordable as possible.”
