Obituary Notice: Elmo C. Fink

Elmo C. Fink, 87, of Curwensville RD #2, passed away May 30, 2012 at the Altoona Regional Medical Center, Altoona Campus.

Born Aug. 26, 1924 in Kerrmoor, Ferguson Township, he was the son of Lewis Austin and Loda Emma (Barrett) Fink.  Mr. Fink was a retired surveyor having worked for Lex Curry Surveying.  Mr. Fink was also a small appliance repairman.  Mr. Fink was a U S Army Veteran of World War II serving in the British Isles and France.

Mr. Fink enjoyed history and being an historian, had participated in numerous archeological digs, and studied theology.

Surviving a brother Kenneth R. Fink and his wife June K. and a sister in law Blanche Fink both of Curwensville as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Mae G. Geddes, Velma E. McKenney, Edna C. Michaels and Wilda O. Curry, and infant sister Marie Ann Fink and brothers Earl David Fink, Merrill O. Fink, and Harry J. Fink.

Funeral Services for Mr. Fink will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on June 3 at 3:00 p.m., with the Reverend Timothy Richmond officiating.  Interment will be in the Williams Cemetery New Millport, PA.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on June 2 from 6 to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 2 p.m. until time of services.

The family suggests contributions be made to either the Curwensville-Pike Township Historical Society or the Clearfield County Historical Society.
