The First Bash of Summer Continues Through Saturday

DUBOIS – The First Bash of Summer Carnival hosted by friends and volunteers of the Red Cross, kicked off Wednesday night with some karate, singing and pie? Yes, pie.

Q 102’s Adam Curry and Sunny 106.5’s Al Lockwood went head-to-head in the Pie-In-The-Eye challenge. The contest was to determine which radio personality could entice the crowd to throw more pies and raise the most money. The battle was close, but Lockwood beat out Curry by a small margin. At the end of the challenge, Lockwood raised $34.50 and Curry raised $32.50.

Other events of the night included karate demonstrations by Rick’s Academy of Self Defense and a live performance by Sug’r Bear.

The First Bash of Summer Carnival will continue through Saturday night and will include more live entertainment on the stage, as well as, rides, food, games and Pie-In-The-Eye challenges. All proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross to help improve the chapter and the counties it serves.
