Norman E. Goss, 85, of Houtzdale died Wednesday at his home.
He was born Sept. 8, 1926 to the late Cyrus and Grace (Reed) Goss. He was married to Viola M. (Lese) Goss in Niagara Falls, NY and who preceded him in death on Jan. 1, 1986.
Mr. Goss was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Houtzdale. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the VFW Post 515 in Osceola Mills, of the Freeberg Post 591 of the American Legion in Houtzdale, of the Osceola Mills Honor Guard in Osceola Mills and of the American Legion Honor Guard in Houtzdale.
He was retired from Penn Central Railroad.
In addition to his Parents and wife, Mr. Goss was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances and Lucille.
He is survived by a daughter, Roxanne Rowles of Houtzdale; two grandchildren, Chris Rowles and Eric Rowles, both from Houtzdale; and two great-grandchildren, Sierra and Hunter.
Also surviving are two sisters, June Hockenberry of Janesville and Idabelle Hockenberry of Houtzdale and three brothers, Cyrus Goss and his wife, Judy of Buffalo, NY, Jim Goss of Niagara Falls, NY and Frederick Goss and his wife, Marcia of Houtzdale.
The funereal will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Heath Funeral Home in Osceola Mills with the Rev. Robert Ford officiating. Burial will be at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Houtzdale. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Osceola Mills Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
