DUBOIS – The Sandy Township Supervisors received an update in the ongoing efforts of Treasure Lake to break away from Sandy Township at Monday’s Sandy Township Supervisor’s meeting.
Sandy Township Solicitor Greg Kruk informed the supervisors that they had two options at the meeting. The first: the township had an attempt to have the court reject Treasure Lake’s petition on grounds of the definition of a borough denied. According to Kruk, the township has 30 days to appeal this decision, but he felt it could be raised again further into the process. No decision was made during the regular meeting regarding an appeal.
The next step involves a committee of appointed members. The township has the ability to recommend two members to this court-appointed committee of five. Supervisors Brady LaBorde and Mark Sullivan were nominated to be recommendations to the committee.
