Obituary Notice: Ralph A. Hoover

Ralph A. Hoover, 83 of Clearfield died on May 21, 2012 at his home.

He was born on March 19, 1929 in Clearfield, a son of the late James A. Hoover, Sr. and Twila (Mars) Hoover.

Ralph was previously employed as a custodian for the Clearfield Area High School.

He loved hunting and fishing and was a collector of antiques.

Ralph served with the U. S. Army from 1947- 1950.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine M. (Padisak) Hoover whom he wed Aug. 28, 1954 in Curwensville, a daughter, Debra Garito and husband James of Clearfield; seven grandchildren, Tracie Grimm, Michael Garito, Brian Garito, Jen Yeager, Carrie Billotte, Destini McCahan, and Tim Hoover; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary E. Krupelak and Dorothy A. Tibbens both of Clearfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Hoover; two sisters and three brothers, Sarah Hoover, Twila Shubert, Ray Hoover Sr., Paul Hoover and James A. Hoover, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kenneth J. Leonard officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.

Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW Posts Honor Guard.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 541 Graham Station Road, Philipsburg, PA 16866.
