Five Boats Take Part in Third ‘Annual Anything That Floats’ Boat Regatta

CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Revitalization Corp. hosted the Anything That Floats boat regatta at Lower Witmer Park Saturday afternoon, sponsored by GenOn Energy.

Five boats competed in the race across the river and back to see if their strictly man-made boat would be the winner. The five teams were: RigMonkeyApp.com, Spanky’s Café Hot Ones, It Takes Two, Sweet Art Bakery and Duckin’ Boat.

The honorary starter of the race was the CNB Bear, and as the racers took off, It Takes Two with their man-made peddle boat took a quick lead over the other four teams and claimed the first place victory and won $150. The team of It Takes Two was made of Ian Senior and Brandon Welder.

After some technical difficulties of flipping their sleek boat, the Sweet Art Bakery team, last year’s winners, took second place and won $75. The most creative team was RigMonkeyApp.com, and won $75. The RigMonkeyApp.com boat was most creative with a pillar on the rubber boats, with a torch of fire.

Kellie Truman, main street Manager, presented the awards to the winners at the end of the race.
