STATE COLLEGE – Police are working to figure out how a hypodermic needle ended up in a shoe sold inside the Nittany Mall earlier this month.
According to WJACTV.com, officers with the State College Police Department said they were called by a woman who said that she was pricked by a needle while trying on a pair of shoes inside the Shoe Department on May 9.
A copy of a search warrant obtained by 6News showed that police ordered employees to hand over the shoe and needle, as well as surveillance video and records about where and when the shoes were shipped to the store.
Officers said the woman is being treated with antibiotics due to the risk of contracting Hepatitis or HIV.
