CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced the capture of a wanted fugitive.

Shaw identified the Fugitive as Kevin McGary, age 24, of Greenville, Pennsylvania.

McGary was added to the Clearfield County Fugitive of the Week list on May 7, 2012.

Shaw stated that an anonymous tip to the Pennsylvania State Police, provided the location of McGary. On May 8, 2012, Deputies from the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office located McGary at a residence in Coalport and he was taken into custody without incident. McGary is currently lodged in the Clearfield County jail.

Shaw thanked the Pennsylvania State Police and the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance with this case.

On March 26, Tpr. David Patrick of the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield Barracks, filed a criminal complaint, charging McGary with burglary, criminal trespass, criminal conspiracy, theft by unlawful taking or disposition and receiving stolen property.

An affidavit of probable cause filed by Patrick states that on Jan. 6, the Pennsylvania State Police began an investigation into a burglary that occurred at a commercial business in Coalport Borough. Upon investigation it was found that McGary had smashed a window to the business and gained entry into the building. Two other individuals assisted McGary as lookouts. While inside, McGary removed several items including inspection stickers, prescription medication and cigarettes.
A preliminary hearing was held May 2 at which time McGary failed to appear and all charges were held for court.

In a separate case, Patrick filed a criminal complaint March 26, charging McGary with burglary, criminal trespass, criminal conspiracy, theft by unlawful taking or disposition and receiving stolen property.

Upon investigation it was found that McGary had gained entry into the building by breaking in the back door. While inside the business, McGary and another individual removed a cash register.
