Sophie C. Waslosky, 93, of Whiteside, RD Houtzdale passed away at 3:50 p.m.,May 3, 2012 at Windy Hill Village, Philipsburg.
Sophie was born on Feb. 10, 1919 at Whiteside a daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Orlowsky) Waslosky.
She was a parishioner of Christ The King Catholic Church, Houtzdale. Sophie was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cooking and gardening.
She is survived by three sisters; Ann Drochak of Houtzdale, Mary Surkovich and her husband Vincent of Atlantic, RD Houtzdale and Lucy Syktich and her husband Michael of DuBois. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents, Sophie was preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine Vancas and infant sister, Eva; and four brothers, James, John, Andrew and Michael.
Friends will be received on May 6, from 2-6 p.m. and on May 7, from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. at the Kruise Funeral Home, Inc. Ramey.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Christ The King Catholic Church, Houtzdale, on May 7, at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Stanley J. Swacha as celebrant.
