Motorcyclist Airlifted After Being Run Over by SUV

CLEARFIELD – A Curwensville man was airlifted for treatment after being hit by an SUV on Thursday.

According to the Lawrence Township Police Department, the accident occurred at around 3:33 p.m. at the intersection of Pleasant Lane and Parkview Drive.

Police said Cynthia Collins of Clearfield was traveling in a full-size SUV, northbound on Pleasant Lane. Police said that she left her lane of travel and crossed into the southbound lane, where she struck a motorcycle, head-on, operated by Robert Ingram Jr. of Curwensville. After the SUV struck struck the motorcycle, it ran over the bike, and Ingram, before overturning onto its side and striking a utility pole.

Ingram was transported to Centre Elementary School where he was airlifted to Altoona Regional Trauma Center. Police said he suffered severe trauma to his left leg. Collins was taken to Clearfield Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.

Police stated the incident is still under investigation. Officers were assisted at the scene by Hyde Volunteer Fire Company, Clearfield Emergency Medical Services, AJ Ross Towing and STAT MedEvac.
