CRC Announces Spring Events

The Clearfield Revitalization Corp., (CRC) has announced it’ll be bringing back the Amazing Race and the man-made “Anything that Floats” Boat Regatta for the third year. The CRC will be hosting these events in conjunction with the Elks Spring Festival at Lower Witmer Park the weekend of May 18 – 20.

“The Spanky’s Courthouse Cafe – Amazing Race Challenge” is brought to you by the CRC and will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, May 18. This is a footrace between various businesses in the downtown Main Street district that challenges you to solve riddles, complete challenges and win prizes.

If you think you know Clearfield, test your knowledge and register a team before May 11. Registration is $20 per team and teams of two are accepted. Prizes are as follows: First Place $75, Second Place $50, Third Place $25, plus there is an opportunity for each team to win a prize at each of the participating secret businesses along the race.

“The GenOn Energy “Anything that Floats” Boat Regatta” is also brought to you by the CRC and will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 19. This is a man-made boat race across the Susquehanna River and back. Design and construct a vessel using any material other than a canoe, kayak or peddle boat.

All boats must be human powered, and you are able to use a paddle. Rally up a team of up to four people and race from Lower Witmer Park across the river and back, but register your team before May 11. Registration is $40 per vessel and prizes are as follows: First Place $125, Second Place $75, Most Creative Theme $75! Please see complete rules and guidelines.

Market St., in downtown Clearfield within the Chamber of Commerce offices or info@discoverclearfield.com. All cash prizes are in the form of Chamber Checks, which is same as cash at over 90 local businesses and restaurants.
