Harry James “Jim” Brooks, 75 of Clearfield died Friday at his home.
He was born Dec. 9, 1936, a son of the late Harry E. and Helen (Hurley) Brooks.
Mr. Brooks owned and operated Jim’s Body Shop in Clearfield. He loved being outdoors, enjoying both hunting and fishing.
He will also be remembered for having incredible use of his hands, whether it was his constant tinkering with clocks or playing the organ and piano. He loved his music, even though he only played by ear and never learned to formerly read music.
Mr. Brooks was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Clearfield.
He’s survived by his wife, Patricia L. (Rieder) Brooks, whom he wed in January 1966 in Clearfield; two sons, James Scott Brooks and Mark Stephen Brooks and his wife, Bobbie Sue, all of Clearfield; and five grandchildren Kearstin Peacock and her husband, Randy, Kameron, Morgan, Dylan and Kayla Brooks.
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
The Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of one’s choice.
