Three People Sustain Minor Injuries in Pine Township Accident

PINE TOWNSHIP – Three people sustained minor injuries following a two-vehicle accident at 10:08 p.m. Friday along U.S. Route 322 in Pine Township, Clearfield County, the Clearfield-based state police reported.

According to the report, a vehicle operated by Bryan J. Pyne, 25, of Penfield rear-ended another driven by Helen V. Oswalt, 43, of Clearfield. Both were traveling eastbound on Route 322, and after being struck, the Oswalt vehicle rotated 360 degrees. Then, it traveled off the roadway and into the median.

Pyne sustained a minor injury in the mishap. Oswalt and her two passengers were all transported to the Clearfield Hospital for further medical evaluation. She and a 16-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries; a 4-year-old passenger was not injured.

Pyne was cited for following too closely and Oswalt for restraint systems. A child passenger wasn’t in the appropriate booster seat in the Oswalt vehicle. All involved were wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident.

Police were assisted at the scene by the Lawrence Township Volunteer Fire Department and Clearfield Emergency Medical Services.
