Work Continues on Clearfield County Bridges

CLEARFIELD – Work to repair five Clearfield County bridges continues, with activity starting Monday on a US Route 219 bridge over Lee Run near Bells Landing.

The Lee Run bridge work gets underway as repair work concludes on two other bridges. The repaired bridges include one over Hawk Run along state Route 1009 (Pardee Road/Empire Road) in Morris Township and one over Beaver Run along SR 53 in Houtzdale. Drivers on Route 219 may experience minor delays on an intermittent basis as work takes place on the Bells Landing bridge.

These repairs are part of a contract to preserve five bridges in Clearfield County. The final two bridges in the contract will see repair work later this year:

Repairs to the five bridges will help to extend their serviceable life for approximately ten years. Overall work will vary from bridge to bridge but will include beam and abutment repairs, bridge deck repairs, steel repairs and painting, guide rail updates, and miscellaneous activities.

All work is weather and schedule dependent. C H & D. Enterprises, Inc. of New Stanton is the contractor on this $1million project. All work should be complete before November of this year.
