Clearfield–The Clearfield Soccer Association has crowned the “Esquire Cup” champions following its inaugural indoor soccer season. The league hosted over 100 local athletes competing in two divisions weekly throughout the winter. The winning teams were Nads United (DuBois) and the PO Goal Diggers (Philipsburg).
“We had a great response of talented athletes during our inaugural season, and look forward to many more years to crown Esquire Cup champions,” said Todd Trinidad League Director and CSA Vice-President.
The league, which was for high school and adult’s soccer players, was made up of 12 teams. In addition to local Clearfield athletes, players and teams came from Curwensville, DuBois, Philipsburg, and surrounding areas.
“We’ve had our indoor facility in Hyde for a few years now and are always looking to provide more opportunities for our area players,” said Bob Aleksivich. “It’s inspiring to see the number of adult athletes we still have in the area, showing that soccer is a lifelong sport.”
The league was made possible by the Law Offices of Koerber & Cummings, LLC, of Clearfield, who served as the league sponsor.
