Dorothy A. ‘Dottie’ Smeal, 63 of Curwensville died on March 24, 2012 at her residence.
She was born on Dec. 28, 1948 in Clearfield, a daughter of Esther (Irwin) Lippert, Curwensville and the late Richard ‘Dick’ Lippert.
Mrs. Smeal retired from Ridgeview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville after 25 years of employment as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
She cherished her time spent with family and friends.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by three children, Richard Larson and companion Lori Demchak of Curwensville, Jennifer Williams and husband Dean of Ginter, Michael Larson and wife Angel of Frenchville; four step-children, Kimberly Kephart and husband Kenneth, David Smeal, Betty Jane Shanechuck and husband Paul all of Clearfield, Kenneth Smeal and wife Teresa of Denver; three grandchildren, Courtney Berg, Megan Berg and Brody Larson, six step-grandchildren, Heather Smeal, Krista Shanechuck, Steven Shanechuck, Matthew Smeal, Alyssa Smeal and Nathan Smeal; two brothers, William Lippert of Curwensville and Jay Lippert and wife Tammy of Wellington, OH and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth L. Smeal on Oct. 15, 2006 and whom she wed Oct. 8, 2002 in Clearfield. She was also preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents and a niece, Melissa Lippert.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Thursday at 11:00 am with Pastor George W. Solley officiating. Interment will follow in the Baughman Cemetery, Sanborn.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday, 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society, 26 S. Second Street, Clearfield.
