- An incident of burglary occurred sometime between 12 p.m. Jan. 29 and 12 p.m. March 14 at a season residence along River Road in Millstone Township, Elk County. A person(s) forced entry by kicking in the door, and once inside, they removed a gray and blue Lowe’s tool box with assorted tools. The wooden door jam was also damaged. Total amount stolen and damaged was reported to be $330. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ridgway-based state police at 814-776-6136.
- An incident of retail theft/criminal trespass occurred at 4:45 p.m. Friday at Wal-Mart in Fox Township, Elk County. A 24-year-old Emporium male entered the store after he’d been notified that he could no longer come onto its property. When using a self-checkout lane he placed two XBOX 360 games with several items that he’d paid for and began to leave the store. He was stopped by Wal-Mart Lost Prevention Employees. The total value of the games was $129.92. Charges of retail theft and criminal trespass are currently pending.
- No injuries were reported following a single-vehicle accident at 7:51 a.m. Saturday along U.S. Route 219 north of Main Street in Ridgway Township, Elk County. A 22-year-old Johnsonburg woman was traveling northbound when her vehicle went off the eastern berm for unknown reasons. There, it impacted two road signs located on the right-hand side of the roadway. Her vehicle sustained disabling damage. She was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident. The woman will be cited for driving vehicle at a safe speed.
