Sunder tabbed EIVA Offensive Player of the Week

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Redshirt senior Joe Sunder (Greensburg, Pa.) was named the EIVA Offensive Player of the Week, conference officials announced Monday (March 19). This is the first honor of the season for Sunder.

Sunder helped Penn State remain undefeated in the EIVA with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-17) win at Saint Francis on March 17. Sunder led the team with 13 kills in 18 swings, hitting .500, and posting a squad-best five digs. He totaled 16 points after also tallying three aces. Sunder averaged 4.33 kills, 1.00 aces, 1.67 digs and 5.33 points per set in the match.

The eighth-ranked Penn State men’s volleyball team remains on the road on March 23-24 as the Nittany Lions visit NJIT and Rutgers-Newark. Both matches are scheduled for 7 p.m. starts.
