Work to Build New I-80 Bridges at Kylertown Continues

Work this week will require a detour for Route 2037

CLEARFIELD – Work to replace bridges that travelers have been using since the original build of Interstate 80 continues at the Kylertown/133 interchange.

Once work is complete, the Kylertown interchange of I-80 will feature four new bridges, two eastbound and two westbound, replacing ones built in 1967.

Demolition work will require a detour for drivers on Route 2037 (Winburne Road/Main Street). The detour is necessary so crews can demolish one side of the I-80 eastbound bridge spanning Route 2037.

The detour uses Route 2035 (Lanse Road). The closure on Route 2037 and detour to Route 2035 will run from Tuesday, March 13 at 7 a.m. to Friday, March 16 at 6 p.m. Route 2037 will re-open sooner, if work progress allows.

A 10-foot width restriction remains in effect on I-80 eastbound and traffic is reduced to a single lane through the work area.

Through the end of the year, crews will be working to replace the I-80 eastbound bridges that span Route 2037 (Winburne Road/Main Street) and Route 53 near Kylertown.

All work is weather and schedule dependent. Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. is the contractor on this $10 million project.
