Herbert W. Freas, 82, DuBois died Sunday at Christ the King Manor. Born Oct. 3, 1929, in Dayton, he was the son of the late Harvey and Dora (Galentine) Freas.
Mr. Freas worked for Triangle Auto Springs from 1956 – 1994. He enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Industrial Bowling League for 44 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War.
On June 10, 1950, he married Betty J. (Slattery) Freas. She preceded him in death Oct. 2, 2011.
He is survived by two children, James E. Freas of DuBois and Marsha Kail and her husband, Robert of Falls Creek; a sister, Donna Frantz of DuBois; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Darrell Freas.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church with Fr. David Foradori and Fr. Monty Sayers co-celebrating. Burial will follow in Morningside Cemetery.
