CLEARFIELD – Clearfield Bank and Trust Co. President William E. Wood presented a $5,000 contribution to the Clearfield Revitalization Corp. (CRC) for 2012. Receiving the contribution is Kellie Truman, Main Street manager.

Clearfield Bank and Trust Co. is a founding contributor to the CRC, as they have pledged a total of $25,000 over five years. This contribution was a necessary match for the Clearfield to become a designated Main Street Community in 2009. After five years of designation, it will then be up to the community to fully self-sustain the Main Street Program fully by local contributions. The five-year program will end in July 2014.

According to Truman, the Clearfield Revitalization Corp. is grateful for Clearfield Bank and Trust Co.’s contribution. “Their investment in our program has shown support and belief of the betterment of Clearfield, and has enabled the CRC to initiate new programs and events that help our community. Last year alone, the CRC accomplished a fall festival and 5K run that brought a few thousand people to downtown. This event facilitated new customers in our downtown businesses and an opportunity for local civic organizations to fundraise towards their sustainability. Many family and friends were brought together for the event and in turn increased awareness for our town and community pride.”

The CRC has also offered education workshops, such as hospitality trainings, image improvement programs for facade improvement grants and the adopt a tree box projects, as well as compiled inventory data, e-commerce studies and conducted a zip code survey pivotal to marketing plans for many small businesses.

Wood stated, “The Clearfield Bank and Trust Co. is again pleased to support the operation of the Clearfield Revitalization Corp.  As one of the founding contributors of the CRC, we take pride in being a part of the revitalization effort and applaud the accomplishments the CRC has had.  The CRC will continue to play a vital role in making Clearfield a great place to work and do business.”
