Ethel M. Hughes, 91, of Osceola Mills passed away on Wednesday, March 7 2012 at Colonial Courtyard, Clearfield.
Born November 10, 1920 she was the daughter of the late Fred and Grace Myers.
She worked as a homemakers and was a member of the Coal Run C & MA Church in Osceola Mills and the Alliance Womens Group.
On February 26, 1938 she wed Raymond E. Hughes who preceded her in death in 1986.
She is survived by 4 daughters, Stacia Szretter, Deerfield Beach, FL; Sharon Robinson and her husband Vern of Curwensville; Linda Hughes of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and Pam Roupe and her husband Rich of Bradford; 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Gertrude Reams, LaRue Patterson, and Olice Srock; and 4 brothers, Derwoods, Donald, Clayton and Richard.
She was an excellent seamstress who made beautiful quilts for her family. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing scrabble. Her faith and love for her Lord was evident to all who had the joy of knowing her. Although she will be greatly missed by her family and friends, Ethel looked forward to her homecoming in Heaven to spend eternity with her Savior.
Funeral services will be held on March 10, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Heath Funeral Home, Osceola Mills with the Rev. Hiram Westover & Rev. Milton Vogel officiating. Burial will be held in the Umbria Cemetery.
Friends will be received on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday until the hour of services.
