DUBOIS — Jackie Diehl Syktich, president and chief executive officer of the DuBois Business College, was recently honored by the Pennsylvania Vice Chair of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), Fred Fair and local ESGR representative, Del Spafford.
Syktich received the prestigious Seven Seals Award for her meritorious leadership and initiative in support of the men and women who serve America in the National Guard and Reserve.
As the president and CEO of the DuBois Business College, Syktich has made each of the campuses available to local chapters of the National Guard and Reserve units in DuBois, Huntingdon and Oil City for computer training areas, meeting places and any other needs that arrive.
“My father was a veteran, and I appreciate our military and the sacrifices that each branch has made for all of us in America,” Syktich said. “We, at the DuBois Business College, could never begin to repay the men and women who serve in any branch of the military for their dedication to our freedoms. Allowing the local units of the National Guard and Reserve units to use our building is the least that we do in an attempt to show our gratitude.”
Syktich was commended for her positive leadership qualities that she also shows the employees and students at DuBois Business College.
“I want you to look at the smile that you see on Jackie’s face. No matter where you see her, she is always smiling. She is an example of a leader who loves what she does and leads from the heart. This type of leader is rare to come by,” Spafford said.
The ESGR works to promote positive relationships between employers and those who serve our country in the National Guard and Reserve.
