Kenneth E. Yarger, 83, of Osceola Mills died Sunday at the Clearfield Hospital.
He was born Aug. 12, 1928 in Sanborn, a son of the late Jerry and Leafy (Ritchie) Yarger.
Mr. Yarger was a member of the Sanborn Grange and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union #126, Philadelphia.
He retired as an equipment operator for Benjamin Coal Co. and had been employed by Harbison Walker Refractories and Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc.
On April 12, 1947 in West Decatur, he married Beverly Jean Kephart, who survives him at home.
He’s survived by three sons and a daughter, Larry Yarger and his wife, Nancy and Dale Yarger and his wife, Sue, all of Houtzdale and Barbara Milliron and her husband Chip and Gary Yarger and his wife, Dee, all of Osceola Mills. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, a sister, Verna Kephart and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, two sisters, a daughter-in-law and a granddaughter.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home, Houtzdale, with Pastor Don Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Sanborn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
