Night Work Begins Today for I-80 Job near Kylertown

Delays possible on Route 53

CLEARFIELD – Eastbound work to replace an Interstate 80 bridge over Route 53 near Kylertown will continue today. Nighttime hours will be in effect 7 p.m. to  5 a.m. March 5 through March 8, as crews work on bridge demolition.

Motorists should be alert for flaggers on Route 53 in the area of the Kylertown/133 interchange.  A 10-foot width restriction remains in effect and eastbound I-80 traffic is reduced to a single lane through the work area.

Through the end of the year, crews will be working to replace the I-80 eastbound bridges that span Route 2037 (Winburne Road/Main Street) and Route 53 near Kylertown.  The week of March 13 will bring a detour for work on the bridge over Route 2037. PennDOT will issue an updated release prior to that work.

All work is weather and schedule dependent. Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. is the contractor on this $10 million project. Drivers are reminded to obey posted speed limits, use caution in construction zones, and always buckle up.
