WJAC-TV: New Court Filing Outlines Locations of Alleged Sandusky Sex-abuse Crimes, Ages of Victims

The Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office has released the approximate dates, the locations and the ages of the 10 alleged victims in the Jerry Sandusky sex-abuse case, according to GantDaily.com news partner WJAC-TV.

Sandusky, 68, denied allegations he engaged in sexual misconduct involving 10 boys over 15 years, and he’s confined to his home while awaiting trial, which is expected to start in mid-May.

The former long-time defensive coordinator at Penn State University founded a charity for children, where prosecutors allege he found victims.

Thursday afternoon, WJAC-TV News obtained the court document detailing alleged abuse on and off campus.

The information was requested by Sandusky’s defense team, and Sandusky’s attorney, Joe Amendola said he wants more information on the alleged victims to help build his defense.

The information, gathered by the Attorney General’s Office, called the Bill of Particulars, outlines the ages of each victim, along with when and where the alleged assaults took place.

According to prosecutors, at least seven of the 10 victims were assaulted by Sandusky on campus.

The alleged acts took place inside the Lasch Building showers, various dormitories, Sandusky’s home and the outdoor pool at University Park.

In some cases, prosecutors were unable to provide specific dates because they said there were numerous offenses over several years.

The new information raises more questions about a possible cover-up at Penn State, and officials said federal prosecutors who filed new subpoenas in recent days, may be taking a look at that angle.
During a campus visit with her son, Patty Schienfield told WJAC-TV she was disgusted by the allegations, but that it will not influence her son’s college decision.

“If you’re creepy like that, there’s going to be more stuff found out. That he did it and he hid it and these young boys were terrified. I’m not surprised that there’s more,” said Schienfield. “I think that’s horrible what he did, but I think it’s unfair to bring the whole university down because of that.”

Penn State Department of Public Information Director Lisa Powers told WJAC-TV by email that the university cannot comment about the specific charges but said officials at University Park are cooperating with multiple investigations.

“We remain deeply concerned about victims of child abuse. We are cooperating fully with all authorities and all criminal and civil investigations, including the Attorney General’s ongoing investigation and the independent investigation being conducted by Judge Louis Freeh for the Special Investigations Task Force created by the Board of Trustees,” said Powers.

Dr. Howard Fradkin said he, alongside other experts and psychologists with MaleSurvivor.org will travel to Penn State for awareness seminars next month.

“This should be a tremendous wake up call for all parents and all institutions to be more aware,” said Fradkin. “It’s devastating and it’s tragic for these boys, that there were so many times that they were victimized over a long period of time, having their youths stolen from them.”

In an email statement to WJAC-TV, Amendola said the defense team for Sandusky is seeking more information from prosecutors.

“We are evaluating the Commonwealth’s response to our request for a Bill of Particulars. We may file a motion in the near future for a more specific response from the Commonwealth to our request for a Bill of Particulars,” said Amendola.

“We don’t believe any of the information in the Commonwealth’s response will alter our defense. We are continuing with the preparation of Jerry’s defense with the goal of obtaining an acquittal on all the charges filed against him.”

Jury selection is slated to begin May 14.
