Minor injuries were reported following a two-vehicle accident at 3 p.m. Thursday along state Route 879 in Pike Township, Clearfield County. A vehicle operated by Mable E. Byers, 84, of Mahaffey was stopped along SR 4005, while one operated by Christopher A. Kanouff, 40, of Clearfield was traveling westbound on SR 879. Byers failed to observe the Kanouff vehicle and pulled into its path. The vehicles struck each other as a result. Both were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident. Byers was cited for failing to yield after stopping at a stop sign. Police were assisted by the Curwensville Fire Company, Clearfield Ambulance and Simbeck’s Towing.
