Fugitive of the Week: David Elensky

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of Feb. 27, 2012. 

Shaw identified the Fugitive as David Elensky, age 61, of Houtzdale, Pennsylvania.

Shaw stated that Elensky is wanted for failure to appear at criminal call on Feb. 5, 2008.

On April 3, 2007, Trooper Mark Miscavish of the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield Barracks, filed a criminal complaint charging Elensky with: 1) driving under the influence, M; 2) 4) careless driving, S; 3) turning movements and required signals, S; and 4) stopping, standing and parking outside business and residence districts, S.

An affidavit of probable cause filed by Miscavish states that on March 7, 2007, the Pennsylvania State Police received a report of a vehicle parked on state Route 53 with the operator asleep in the driver’s seat. Upon making contact with the driver of the vehicle, Miscavish detected signs of impairment and requested that Elensky field sobriety tests. After administering the field sobriety tests, Elensky was transported to the Clearfield Hospital for blood testing.

A preliminary hearing was held on May 23, 2007, at which time all charges were held to court.

In a separate case, Trooper Terry Jordan of the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield Barracks, filed a criminal complaint charging Elensky with: 1) driving under the influence, M; 2) reckless driving, S; 3) stopping, standing and parking outside business and residence districts, S; 4) vehicular hazard signal lamps, S; and 5) restraint systems, S.

An affidavit of probable cause filed by Jordan states that on May 7, 2007, the Pennsylvania State Police received a report of a vehicle in the middle of the roadway on Kendrick Road, Woodward Township. Upon arrival at the scene, troopers found Elensky asleep behind the wheel of the vehicle with the engine running. Jordan detected signs of impairment and requested that Elensky perform field sobriety tests.  After administering the field sobriety tests, Elensky was transported to the Clearfield Hospital for blood testing.

A preliminary hearing was held on June 27, 2007, at which time all charges were held to court.

On Feb. 5, 2008, Elensky failed to appear for criminal call and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
