Short delays also expected on SR 53
CLEARFIELD –Eastbound bridge replacement work will get underway Thursday and Friday, March 1 and 2 on two eastbound Interstate 80 bridges near the Kylertown/133 interchange.
Motorists should be alert for lane closures in the area, as crews begin work zone set-up and place concrete barrier. Drivers should be alert for slowed or stopped traffic in the area. A 10-foot with restriction will also be in place.
Pennsylvania State Police will be on site to enhance safety through the work zone.
Drivers will also be able to find updated information on roadside message boards and through the Highway Advisory Radio System at 1640 on the am dial.
Short delays may also occur on Route 53, as barrier is set for traffic control. Drivers need to remain alert for flaggers in the roadway during this activity on Thursday and Friday.
Through the end of the year, crews will be working to replace the I-80 eastbound bridges that span Route 2037 (Winburne Road/Main Street) and Route 53 near Kylertown. The week of March 5 will bring nighttime bridge demolition work. PennDOT will issue an updated release prior to that work.
All work is weather and schedule dependent. Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. is the contractor on this $10 million project. Drivers are reminded to obey posted speed limits, use caution in construction zones, and always buckle up.
