Penn State fencers second in latest Coaches’ Poll

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The latest USFCA Coaches’ Poll has been released and Penn State is holding strong in the number two spot. Both the men and women dropped one spot since the last poll was released in January. Ohio State took the lead this week, jumping four and five spots for the men and women, respectively.

The Nittany Lions will travel to Philadelphia Saturday (Feb. 25) to compete against Duke, St. John’s, Princeton and the University of Pennsylvania. For the men, all of the teams they will meet also are ranked in the latest USFCA Poll. St. John’s falls right below the Nittany Lions in third place, followed immediately by Princeton in fourth. The University of Pennsylvania and Duke took the seventh and eight spots, respectively. In the women’s poll Princeton fell down one spot to third while St. John’s remained in fifth. The University of Pennsylvania took the last spot coming in tenth and Duke did not get ranked. This is the second USFCA Coaches’ Poll of the season. The third and final poll will be released in March.
