James A. Bailor, 76, of O’Shanter died Monday at his residence. Born Oct. 2, 1935 in Curwensville, he was the son of Leslie Warren and Anna Mae (Smith) Bailor.
Mr. Bailor was a coal miner and retired from the Glen-Irvine Corp. in Penfield. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict.
He wed the former Deloris M. Rowles on Dec. 6, 1955 in Clearfield, and who preceded him in death on Feb. 9, 2011. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Steven Lines.
Surviving are five children, James A. Bailor Jr. and his wife, Tammy and Patricia Boal, both of Marion, NC; Leslie Bailor of O’Shanter; John C. Bailor and his partner, Doreen Price of Curwensville; and Sandy Maines and her husband, Ronald of Osceola Mills.
Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, four sisters and a brother, Janet Grice and her husband, Lynn “Scoot” of Clearfield; Florence Evanko and her husband, Joe and Betty Pent, both of Curwensville; Dan Bailor and his wife, Gretchen of New Millport; and Barb Rowles of Rockton.
Funeral services for Mr. Bailor will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville with the Rev. David Hamilton, officiating. Interment will be in the Thompson Cemetery of Glen Richey.
Friends will be received at the funeral home 12 p.m. until time of services Thursday.
