In 2011 the township received $165,462 from the CDBG. The township was advised to expect a 12 percent decrease in funds. The funds, and submission deadline, have yet to be finalized by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. When announced 18 percent of the awarded funds can go to administrative costs, 70 percent has to go to project to assist low to medium income individuals/families.
The three year community development plan proposed for 2012 involves continued waterline projects and possible economic development activities. The current CBDG funded water projects include the Merris Avenue/Larkeytown Road/Slab Run Fourth Street Waterline interconnection.
The next public hearing will be held at 7:00 p.m. on March 19. The application will be signed at 7:00 p.m. at the April 16 meeting. Both dates tentative.
