PHILIPSBURG – The Philipsburg Main Street Program Promotion Committee held its 10th Annual Chocolate Fest on Feb. 18 at Club Squared in Historic Downtown Philipsburg. Over 100 people attended the event and spent the afternoon sampling chocolate from about 20 entrants and voting for their favorites.
Judging was conducted by a “change war.” The winner in the adult category was Philipsburg resident Cathy Kassab who received a $50 cash prize and Bethany Boulton took first place receiving a $25 cash prize in the Youth category. Both prizes were sponsored by the Philipsburg Main Street Program. All proceeds benefit the Philipsburg Main Street Program’s downtown revitalization efforts. Chocolate Fest is held annually on the Saturday before Lent begins at revolving locations throughout the Main Street Program area. The Main Street Program would like to thank Club Squared for hosting, WPHB for broadcasting, thank those who submitted chocolate for tasting, those who attended the event, and all the volunteers who helped put the event together!
